Interior design services

Birch Hill Interiors offers three levels of services so you can choose the help you need for your project. Plus expert paint color consultations that can be added to your design plan or purchased as a standalone service.

in-home design Consultation • $300
This is a two-hour, in-home visit where we’ll talk about your design goals, preferred styles, budget, and timeline. We’ll also collaborate about potential recommendations and how to move ahead to achieve your goals. Afterward I’ll email you a written proposal for your project that includes a summary of our visit plus options for how to implement my recommendations.
Interior design plan
After we consult, I can also take your project to the next level by providing floor plans (2- and 3-D) and design boards featuring actual furniture, flooring, lighting, and decor recommendations with links to retailers. I use an “e-design” interactive process with online messaging for your feedback and collaboration as plans develop. Includes follow-up with post-design support.
Per room:
• One design option: $400
• Three design options: $800
A la carte: $100/hour
For design of smaller spaces or individual room elements not requiring a floor plan, such as an entryway refresh, bookshelf styling, wall art placement, etc.
INSTALLATION/STYLING • $100/hour

Once your furnishings have been delivered, let’s keep partnering together to place rugs, arrange furniture, hang drapes and wall art, and style decor on built-ins or bookshelves, and tabletops. Although my post-design support as part of your design plan is an added value, a phone call or email isn’t comparable to having the skill of a design professional on-site with this add-on service.

color Consultation • $300

Let’s talk about your wall color! As a certified Psychological Color Expert™ I am trained in specifying residential paint color for interior spaces. I’ll show you how your color options relate to your home’s other permanent finishes and immovable features. Afterward, large paint samples will be mailed to your house so that you can look at a few choices in different lighting conditions.

You can choose this as a standalone service, whether or not we partner on interior design, or add it to my design consultation or plan services.

Questions?

My process starts with an in-home consultation to learn about your design goals, lifestyle and preferred design styles, budget, and timeline. From there, you can choose from services including but not limited to floor planning, design solutions, and sourcing of furniture, lighting, flooring, window treatments, and other decor items. 
You can avoid costly mistakes by working with a designer upfront rather than during a re-do that didn’t work out the way you hoped. I also pass my trade discounts on to my clients whenever possible.
Very often you will receive your initial, in-home consultation within a week or two of your first contact with Birch Hill Interiors. Design solutions will be provided within the following week. The length of the whole process is more dependent on the homeowner’s response time in providing feedback.

Yes. Birch Hill Interiors belongs to the Real Estate Staging Association which has about 40 local members who are designers as well as stagers. We often refer contractors to each other. 

A design style questionnaire is emailed to you before your initial consultation which will help you define one or more styles that you prefer. Sometimes homeowners think they like one style and along the way, they learn that their preferences have actually evolved. It’s a process.
